About Who We Are
Who We Are
PRIMER is a network of business and professional leaders who leverages its resources to create opportunities, sponsorship and success for its members for Latinos in the U.S. and for the community at large. The network enables its members to grow to their full potential and fulfill critical mentorship and leadership roles. PRIMER members support charitable entities and organizations within their communities. PRIMER members engage in benchmarking and sharing best leadership practices, providing discussion forums where members can address key issues facing the community. This effort seeks to remedy the current shortage of top Latino executives in business and corporate America.
What PRIMER is NOT.
PRIMER is not an organization that will replace, overlap with or perform roles already undertaken by other Latino organizations in the areas of commerce, politics, social justice, law, business or education. PRIMER is not a chamber of commerce. PRIMER is not a forum for academic, theoretical or scholarly research. PRIMER is not a foundation or a “think tank.”
What exactly is the PRIMER Network then?
PRIMER is a networking “business round table” in which members affirmatively work on developing and promoting the advancement of Latinos in executive and senior leadership roles in corporate America and as entrepreneurs in business, which in turn, enhances the progress and standing of the Latino population in the United States.
Why PRIMER?
The key reason for PRIMER’s existence is that, statistically and professionally, the number of Latinos running their own companies or in key management and executive roles (whether in the private sector or in government), is woefully low. PRIMER members believe this is due to a lack of mutual assistance and "sponsorship" of each other. The simple truth is we can significantly help each other, support our community and make substantial contributions in the nation. The way to advancement is to leverage our resources together.
