Rose Casiano Johnston, SPHR is Director, Learning & Development in the People Practices/Human Resources organization at MetLife. In this role, she has the responsibility to lead a team of training professionals across the country and partner with the leadership team to develop and implement learning solutions to support the National Accounts group of the Institutional Business.

Rose has 30+ years of experience in Human Resources, including Training, Organizational Development, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Diversity, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS and Project Management.  She was a regional HR Manager with The Prudential and a senior HR Business Partner with Fleet Boston Financial before joining MetLife 7 years ago.  At MetLife, Rose has been an HR Generalist and Site Leader for our Scranton offices while supporting the IT Auto & Home group.  She was also the Senior HR Generalist/Director for the Institutional IT group and an HR Director leading recognition, diversity, recruiting, employee survey and talent review processes.

She has held numerous leadership roles in community and professional organizations including the operating board of the National Hispanic Corporate Achievers (NHCA), State Diversity Director for the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) in both NJ and PA, President of the Tri-County Personnel Association, Board of the Domestic Violence Service Center, Vice-President of the Ethics Institute of NEPA, Treasurer of the Luzerne County Commission for Women and Diversity Institute.

Rose is a graduate of Bloomfield College with a major in Personnel Management.  She is certified by the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.

She resides in Eatontown, NJ with her two younger children, Kennard and Olivia.  She is also the mother of Camille, an attorney in Freeport, LI and Louis, a graduating senior at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA.
