Francisco J. Paret
Leader of the U.S. Investment Banking Financial Services Practice at Egon Zehnder International
Francisco J. Paret leads the U.S. Investment Banking segment within the Financial Services Practice at Egon Zehnder International, one of the world’s leading senior-level executive search consulting firms. Based in New York, he also works on behalf of asset management companies, private equity firms and hedge funds. He has completed assignments on behalf of Advent International, Barclays Global Investors, BBVA, The Capital Group Companies, Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, Permira, UBS and others.
Before joining Egon Zehnder in 2005, Mr. Paret was an investment banker for more than a decade. During his Wall Street career, Mr. Paret advised companies, private equity funds, and senior government officials, both in the U.S. and Latin America, on capital-raising transactions, mergers, acquisitions and exclusive sales. Prior to joining Egon Zehnder International, Mr. Paret was a Managing Director and Partner with Duff & Phelps, LLC, a middle-market financial advisory and investment banking firm. Previously, he had been a Director in Credit Suisse First Boston’s technology investment banking group and in their global corporate finance group. Mr. Paret also had prior stints in the Latin America investment banking groups of ING Barings and Bear Stearns & Co.
Mr. Paret also brings a wealth of experience in and commitment to civic and community endeavors. In 2002, President George W. Bush appointed him to his 20-member Presidential Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans, where he chaired the Community Partnerships Working Group. Mr. Paret was also a founding partner and member of the board of directors of Social Venture Partners of the Bay Area, a San Francisco-based venture philanthropy organization focused on issues of youth and education, and now a program of Northern California Grantmakers. He has served on several other non-profit boards, including the board of directors of OICW, a successful job training and placement center in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the board of advisors of Hispanic Net, a Silicon Valley-based organization created to advance opportunities for Hispanic executives and entrepreneurs in technology.
Mr. Paret holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BSBA with concentrations in international management and finance from Georgetown University, where he was a recipient of The Dean’s Citation for outstanding leadership.
