Samuel A. Ramirez Jr. began working full time at Samuel A. Ramirez & Company, Inc in July of 1992. He began his career in 1987 as a trainee in the Financial Markets with a concentration on Fixed Income Securities at First Albany Securities.
Over the years, Sam has acquired experience in many areas of the firm. He has been a top investment advisor in both the private client group and in the fixed income institutional group. Sam has been directly involved in the management of portfolios of both fixed income and equity securities, and balanced strategies for over 14 years. He presently heads the private client group, which manages in excess of $2B in customer accounts for approximately 4000 clients. His job includes retail and institutional portfolio management and executing and coordinating the business development efforts of the firm in all major divisions. Sam oversees all major product and service lines offered to the private clients of the firm ranging from financial and estate planning, to insurance products, hedging and monetization strategies and retirement planning.
In 2003, he formed the M &A/business advisory group which focuses on helping companies of various sizes and stages of growth with strategic business planning, access to capital and capital markets functions.
Mr. Ramirez is actively involved in business and civic organizations. He is involved with the Municipal Bond Club and Municipal Forum, both of New York. He is a junior committee member of the Museum of the City of New York, a former member of the Catholic Big Brother and Sister’s, a former member of the Downtown Athletic Club and coached baseball in the Harlem Little League.
Mr. Ramirez earned a B.A. in Economics at the University of Vermont. Mr. Ramirez resides in Manhattan with his wife, Fabiana and daughters, Carolina & Juliana.
