Conrad Ramos

Conrad Ramos entered the teaching profession in late 2005 to encourage young minority students to pursue science and engineering careers.

Previously, Ramos was Senior Vice President, Finance and Operations of DiversityInc, the leading diversity publisher in the country. He was responsible for all operations, financial, human resources and technology management, including the evaluation and implementation of new technologies of this $9 million magazine and internet publisher. Within 5 years, he successfully steered the financial success of the company from a $2 million dot.com entity to a $9 million national publication.

Before joining DiversityInc, Ramos was Export Manager and Assistant to the Vice President, Latin America, for Sun Chemical Corp., where he managed financial, customer service, sales and IT areas of a $53 million division. Previously, he worked for 12 years at National Starch and Chemical with responsibilities in manufacturing, technical service and international development. As international technical manager, he managed all technology transfer to subsidiaries, predominately in Latin America Southern Europe and South Africa. Additionally, he was the Latin America strategic technical/marketing manager for the company’s top customer, Kimberly Clark, - overseeing all areas of sales, customer service, pricing, technology, and delivery.

Since 1989, Ramos has served on Columbia University’s Alumni Recruiting Committee (ARC) where he recruits, interviews and mentors high school seniors. He is active with community based organizations and has served on various boards including the United Way of Greater Union County in New Jersey since 1999.

Ramos earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Columbia University in New York City. He also holds an MBA in international marketing from the University of South Florida.

Ramos was born in Jersey City, NJ, and is a first generation Cuban American. He is married to Nicole Rivard, a graduate of École Polytechnique, Université de Montréal. He has two sons, Conrad Clayton and Alexandre. He currently resides in Mountainside, NJ.
