Sunset Shores Adult Day Center

Gladys Soto

In 1987 Gladys Soto decided to transition the knowledge and expertise she gained working with senior citizens from the public sector to a private service enterprise. Soto’s desire was to offer a creative, quality option of care to elders and their caregivers.

As president and CEO of Sunset Shores Adult Day Center and its divisions, Gladys Soto turned her love for working with senior citizens into a thriving and compassionate eldercare business. The team approach, hard work and creativity have been the driving force behind “Sunset’s small business success.

Based in Stratford, CT, “Sunset” is made up of six division’s offering services to older and disabled adults in Connecticut and beyond.   The initial company, Remesa East provides bilingual bicultural service to Latino elders. The Harborview-Next Step gives disabled adults an opportunity to experience mainstream community living opportunities. Sunset’s FI Program provides fiscal support to disabled adults and their families in and outside of Connecticut.

“Sunset at Home Assisted Living Services” in home care and “Casa Otonal de Puerto Rico” eldercare community, are her most recent developments.

Soto credits the support of her husband, John and her “family of coworkers” in her quest to sustain Sunset’s success.
