Jeff L. Horn is an executive with diplomatic business qualities well suited to assist innovative medical device companies in growth from an entrepreneurial start-up phase to a global market leadership position.
Born in New York and raised in a scientific household, Jeff has deep respect for research and the importance of commercialization for its greatest benefit to mankind. Jeff’s father was a renowned nuclear biomedical scientist for over 44 years at Brookhaven and Lawrence Livermore National laboratories with extensive publications and patents complimented by technical diplomacy tours with the United Nations.
Over his 30-year career, Jeff developed a strong background in international sales and market development. He is a natural relationship builder able to function expertly in the complex aspects of global enterprise. Jeff began his career as a nuclear design engineer for hydraulic system cores in the World Trade Center. He was soon drafted to broaden his fluid dynamic skills for uses in medical instrumentation and human devices. During the 1980s, Jeff consulted on DNA sequencers for Genentech and Biosearch in their start-up phases. He was pivotal in the success of the first systems that broke the human genetic code which resulted from his engineering work with companies such as DuPont Research. During the 1980s he helped pioneer the first Non-Invasive Blood Pressure Monitors (NIBPs) with industry leaders for whom he designed the crucial air valve systems linked to computer electronics. He again used his hydraulics knowledge to assist Medtronics in their first human implantation devices.
Jeff Horn has been with Z-Medica Corporation since 2003 where he assisted the founders to expand the company, protect the core technology and globalize sales.
Jeff is an active member of the Board of Cancer101.org and a devoted supporter of Holy Apostles College & Seminary. He has a bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University, a post-graduate degree from University of Connecticut, plus advanced studies at WPI and Wharton. Jeff is a registered Professional Engineer.
Most importantly Jeff is proud of his two children; Douglas 17, and Jacqueline, 13 as well as his honor to be an Eagle Scout and recipient of the Ad Altare Dei Award.
